{These can be difficult questions during Christmas time, but Jesus did not remain a baby in the cradle – His cradle, cross and tomb are empty – Christ Followers are to have an impact in this very dark world we live in.}

– As believers do we understand that concern for people flows from our lives as we love God and live for Him. And if we do not have love or concern for others what does that say about us?

Mark 12:30-31 ‘And you shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your mind, and with all your strength.’ This is the first commandment. “And the second, like it, is this: ‘You shall love your neighbor as yourself.’ There is no other commandment greater than these.”

2 Cor 5:14-16  For the love of Christ compels us, because we judge thus: that if One died for all, then all died; and He died for all, that those who live should live no longer for themselves, but for Him who died for them and rose again.  Therefore, from now on, we regard no one according to the flesh. …

– Come on, when was the last time we thought about the reality of people without Christ?

 Matt 9:36-38 But when He saw the multitudes, He was moved with compassion for them, because they were weary and scattered, like sheep having no shepherd.

II Th 1:7-8 … when the Lord Jesus is revealed from heaven with His mighty angels, in flaming fire taking vengeance on those who do not know God, and on those who do not obey the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ.

– Remember how important it is to constantly be renewing our minds?

Rom 12:2 And do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind …

Phil 2:5-8 Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus, who, being in the form of God, did not consider it robbery to be equal with God, but made Himself of no reputation, taking the form of a bondservant, and coming in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself and became obedient to the point of death, even the death of the cross.

– Do we still or better really believe in the simple yet profound power of the Gospel?

Rom 1:16-17 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ, for it is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes, for the Jew first and also for the Greek.       For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, “The just shall live by faith.”

– Please take some time out from this busy Christmas season to evaluate our lives – are we “being the Good News,” do we truly understand the wonderful privilege and responsibility of who we are?

  • Salt and light to those around us, Matt. 5:13-14.
  • We are ambassadors for Christ, II Cor. 5:20.
  • We are branches of the true vine – a channel of Christ’s life, John 15:5
  • We are living epistles for all to read- II Cor.3:2.
