Staff and Elders

Randy Weekley

Senior Pastor - Elder

Pastor Randy graduated from Clearwater Christian College and then went on to Grace Theological Seminary. He soon became the Pastor of this church in January of 1984. He and his wife Jean have been married for 37 years; Jean indeed is his soul mate and a daily reminder of godliness. They have three daughters and five grandchildren. Pastor Randy enjoys reading and studying God’s Word, besides preaching and teaching, he also enjoys watching sports, fishing and being with his family. He and his entire family have come to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ through the outreach of this church and it is his desire that all come to know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. Pastor Randy has been involved in four church plants and is passionate about Jesus Christ and His Word being the foundation of all that the church does.

Probably the greatest influence in his life has been from his Pastor Bill Tweeddale who was the lead pastor of this church when Randy came to the Lord; Pastor Bill gave him such a foundation of what ministry is and a great example to follow. It is indeed unique in the fact that Pastor Randy is pastoring the church he was saved in.  By God’s Grace he will have been pastoring here for 29 and going on 30 years!

Joe Sowers

Pastor of Youth and Worship - Elder

Pastor Joe Sowers grew up in the Grace Brethren Church of Pinellas Park and went on to graduate from Florida State University. After College he found himself back at the church and in 1991 became the Youth Pastor. He has a desire to show the love of Christ to young people and to see them rooted in God’s Word.

Joe first felt called to the ministry in the Fall of 1987 while worshipping in the pews, wondering what God would have him do. After that, he studied with Pastor Randy Weekley culminating in his ordination as a pastor. In addition to serving the Lord as Youth Pastor, Joe serves as the music team leader for Sunday and special services. He is passionate about worship and the biblical role that music plays in it. His favorite part of ministry is getting to serve the Lord and knowing that anything worthwhile comes from His hands.

Joe and his wife Lynn have been married for over 20 years, Lynn has served alongside of Joe in Youth Ministry and has home schooled all five of their daughters.
